A thick, viscous substance obtained by refining sugar.

  •          Sugar cane
  •          Beet
  •          Carot
  •           Pomegranate
  •           Dates

Molasses is very rich in vitamins and minerals, essential elements for the health of the plant, it helps to increase the microbial life in the soil, without any negative effect on the ecosystem.

Molasses is found in several forms during the sugar refining process.

 • Light molasses (first boil, sweet)

 • Blackstrap molasses (second boil, less sugar)

 • “Blackstrap” greenstrap molasses (third boil, lack of sugar)

Blackstrap molasses is extremely thick, very dark in color and bitter in taste due to the large amount of sugar removed.  It is full of iron, calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, selenium, potassium, vitamins B6 and B3.

Be careful to use organic or check that it does not present sulphur, sulphurous molasses !!!  It is a preservative agent against microbes, counterproductive for the microbial life of your soil.

Properties and benefits :

The basis of a healthy plant is its growing medium, the place from which the plant draws all its nutrients for its proper development : the earth.

The root zone called : « rhizosphere » contains various life, these micro-organisms are beneficial for the plant, the mycorrhiza is a fungus which feeds on sugar, forms the mycelium and promotes the transport of nutrients in the root system, molasses helps  to feed its fungal network.

Cannabis plants require micro and macro nutrients to achieve good health, not just nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus.  Molasses compensates for micronutrient deficiencies, it prevents the accumulation of salts in the soil which is a frequent cause of deficiencies.

Through photosynthesis, plants harvest energy (light, sun) and turn it into oxygen and carbohydrates, plants produce their own carbohydrates, adding molasses improves the whole process  , these carbohydrates promote the healthy and strong growth and development of your plant.

Potassium is essential for photosynthesis and improves the circulation of water, nutrients and carbohydrates in plant tissues.  Better root growth, stronger stems and better flowering thanks to the additional supply of molasses.

 Against pests : (non-toxic)

Molasses helps to strengthen the plants and makes them more robust, which increases their resistance against attacks from many pests.  Molasses can be deadly to insects that ingest it, hence its protective properties.

Use :

  •         As a foliar spray : 1 to 3 🥄 tablespoons / 5l of water to use on the leaves and roots of the plants.

 • In compost tea : 3 🥄 soup / 15l

  •          In watering : 1 to 2 🥄 soup / 5l only for         cultivation in soil or coconut (not hydro)

 Conclusion :

Molasses remains the best option among various sweet organic nutrients, it contains more micronutrients than these acolytes : honey, agave syrup etc….

Can avoid certain deficiencies, natural fertilizer.

Molasses has a beneficial effect on cannabis flowers :

 • Increased trichomes

 • More density

 • More taste
